Role Overview



We are seeking an experienced

Electrical Specialist

with strong expertise in

controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems integration

. The successful candidate will play a key role in a ground-breaking project involving a

hydraulic power unit that generates renewable energy

and feeds electricity back into the grid.

This role requires an individual with proven experience in

system design, grid compliance, and CE marking certification

, alongside a strong understanding of

health and safety regulations, high- and low-voltage systems, and electrical software and design

.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the electrical design, development, and integration of a

hydraulic energy generation unit

for grid export. Develop and implement

controls and instrumentation systems

to monitor and optimise performance. Manage the

electrical interface between mechanical energy conversion systems and the grid

, ensuring compliance with DNO and grid code requirements. Conduct

system design, software programming, and instrumentation configuration

for automated control. Ensure full compliance with

CE marking, electrical regulations, and health and safety standards

. Undertake

testing, inspection, risk assessments, and commissioning

of high- and low-voltage systems. Produce and maintain detailed

technical documentation, schematics, and operational manuals

. Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers and project stakeholders to deliver a safe, efficient, and scalable solution. Stay updated with

industry standards and emerging technologies in renewable and grid-connected systems

.

Skills & Experience



Strong background in

controls, instrumentation, and power systems engineering

. Demonstrated experience with

electrical grid integration projects

, ideally within renewable or mechanical energy conversion. Solid knowledge of

CE marking requirements, compliance frameworks, and HSE legislation

. Experience with

high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems

. Proficiency in

design and simulation software, PLC/SCADA systems, and automation tools

. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work across disciplines. Strong technical writing and documentation abilities.

Qualifications



Degree (BEng/MEng) or equivalent in

Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field

.

CE Marking certification

or demonstrable experience in CE compliance. Professional membership/chartership desirable (IET or equivalent). Evidence of CPD in areas such as

grid compliance, renewable energy systems, or electrical safety

.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
