The Role


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Support & Site Engineer to provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for Lamps and Fittings within the Lighting Industry. This role combines hands-on site support and office-based technical support, UK wide. This role is responsible for ensuring technical expertise is delivered safely, efficiently, and compliant with standards. Your key responsibilities will be to:

Provide on-site support to end users in installations, testing, maintenance & functionality of our products. Oversee warranty repair/replacement, ensuring that work is complete in a safe and timely manner. Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of electrical support. Complete risk assessment and method statements when requested from customers, performing visual site-specific risk assessments. This includes conducting site inspections, audits, and quality checks on electrical installations. Partner with the technical team in planning, scheduling, and resource coordination for electrical works. Assist the technical team with troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and problem resolution. This includes product installation instructions to verify that they contain relevant information. Work in partnership with the Lead Technical Support Engineer to help advance and fault find the smart technology apps that control Bell lights. Provide technical support and guidance to employees on BELL products when and as they arise, to help provide them with an understanding of the functionality. Work closely with the Technical Director, Technical Manager & Product Development team, to provide advice on the design and implementation of new and existing products. Provide support to the Returns department when detailed reports are required for the customer as to how a fitting has failed and possible reasons as to why this has happened. Assist the marketing team to install displays and fixtures to display Bell products. Assist the build team with the wiring of new bespoke products and fault find when they are experiencing issues with products or compatibility issues. Perform general maintenance around Bell House. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities as required. Adhere to all Company policies, including the Health and Safety of yourself and your colleagues. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, codes, and company policies.
Skills & Qualifications

Essential



Experienced Electrical Engineer with a solid knowledge of electrical processes, electrical systems, equipment, and safety standards Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding, ideally within the lighting industry. Competent carrying out site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, particularly within Industrial & commercial environments. 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification. City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing. Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems. Willingness to travel to project sites as required. IPAF/PASMA certification for safe use of access equipment. A professionally presented, confident and self-motivated individual, representing the Company in a professional and positive manner at all times Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to site challenges. Able to manage workloads, meeting timescales and targets as agreed with the Technical department to meet critical challenges head on. Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams. Able and willing to travel to multiple sites across the UK, with overnight stays. Full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Desirable Skills



Experience and knowledge of lighting products and applications. Understanding of lighting systems (LED, emergency lighting, control systems, and related infrastructure). Experience working with sports lighting. Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) certified. ECS/CSCS card or equivalent site access certification.
