Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to oversee our engineering projects in Bristol and guide our team towards successful outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in both electrical and mechanical engineering, with a preference for expertise in train door systems. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and a high level of proficiency in project management.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of technicians installing train door systems on legacy rolling stock. Carry out electrical fault finding and provide technical solutions to complex problems. Liaise with customers on site and project updates, ensuring excellent communication and service delivery. Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company and industry standards. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure installations meet safety and performance requirements. Monitor and check stock levels to ensure all required materials are available for scheduled work. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team and project.

Experience

Strong background in electrical fault finding and repair. Previous experience in rail, rolling stock, or a similar heavy engineering industry (preferred). Experience leading or supervising a team of technicians. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and quality control. Effective communicator, confident in liaising with customers and internal teams. Knowledge of health & safety standards and industry compliance requirements. Experience in Train door systems is highly advantageous.

Pay: 37,000.00-42,000.00 per year
