Role description

Carry out electrical repair, maintenance and provide technical support on factory equipment and services to maintain efficient operations of the plant.



Responsibilities:



Set up and make electrical adjustments to factory equipment and services, in order to maintain efficient operations.

Identify and repair electrical faults with factory services and equipment in order to minimise down time.

Assist when required in maintaining and establishing efficient electrical mechanical and technical operations during normal working hours & outside such hours in event of breakdown etc.

Operate forklift truck/MEWPs to move equipment in and around plant and access various plant areas if required would be an advantage.

Carry out installation and modification projects to maintain efficient electrical operations of factory equipment and services.

Communicate with colleagues, supervision and liaise awith other departments to maintain efficient operations.

Comply with company health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment using OTPA, Risk Assessment and Bsafe systems to record results.

Work & comply to current IEE regulations



Required skills / qualifications:



Time served fully qualified Mechanical Engineer

Good working understanding of electrical and electronic principles



Assembly

Wiring

Measurement

Fault finding



Understanding of technical drawings.



Understanding of control systems and operation of:



Utility services & electrical distribution

Batch plant

Furnace & forehearth

Forming

Lehr



Understanding of terminology relating to container defects



Understanding of factory service operation.



What we offer

Salary based on Grade 8 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary minimum 38,000 - 40,892 max

Monday to Friday working, condensed hours where appropriate, plus 26.5 days holiday + 8 statutory holidays
