Key Responsibilities
Electrical Panel Maintenance:
Repair, service, maintain, and test electrical control panels used with pumping systems.
Installation Work:
Install and connect electrical panels and pumps within the depot and at customer sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve faults in pumps and electrical panels efficiently, minimising downtime.
Testing and Calibration:
Conduct electrical tests and calibrate systems to ensure they meet performance and current safety electrical requirements.
Commissioning:
Have the ability to commission an electrical system to meet client requirements.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of repairs, servicing, and electrical installations, updating logs and documentation as required.
Customer Interaction:
Liaise with clients on-site to ensure installations and repairs meet their needs and expectations.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in the pump or industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, and fault diagnosis.
The capability to understand relay logic and analyse the clients' control systems.
Hands-on experience with submersible pumps, particularly brands like Flygt, Tsurumi, and Grundfos.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
18th Edition wiring regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant technical or vocational qualifications in electrical installations or a related field.
Experience working in the pump industry or a similar technical environment.
Familiarity with Health & Safety standards in industrial or construction settings.
Knowledge of AMP8 requirements and water industry standards.
Experience in working with variable speed drives.
2391 Inspection and testing or equivalent qualification.
