Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Technician to support the Sussex Custodial Services building.

Key activities:

  • Apply relevant trade skills to any allocated jobs as directed by management.
  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out maintenance/repair of electrical services plant and equipment across the site
  • Integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff and contractors
  • Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the site
  • Carry out new electrical works as required i.e. new works, refurbishment and work associated with the life cycle maintenance programme
  • Carry out electrical repairs and cleaning of electrical components and equipment as necessary.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to plant breakdowns
  • To carry out portable appliance testing (PAT)
  • Comply with statutory testing and inspection legislation (BS 7671)
  • Undertake training and qualify as Authorised or Competent Person for Electrical plant/systems as required
  • Required to participate in a rostered 24 hour on-call system providing emergency service during non-working hours, at weekends and bank holidays
  • Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self development purposes
  • To undertake duties of training and supervision of maintenance staff as required
Skills, qualifications & experience:
  • Qualifications such as C&G 2391 Test & Inspection, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ or similar, in an electrical discipline
  • Full and valid Driving Licence
  • Good organisational skills, able to prioritise workload
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to solve problems
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team
  • Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
