Job overview




The duties include highly complex fault finding and maintenance on all aspects of engineering plant and equipment throughout the Trust. The duties must be carried out within stringent timescales and within statutory guidelines. The post holder must participate in the Trust wide out of hours call system. The post holder must work as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team, providing technical expertise within the Trust's buildings and associated plant.

Main duties of the job




To undertake multi-skilled workmanship in Electrical Engineering disciplines. To liaise with Contractors, Clinical Staff and other Professional Personnel on maintenance issues. To maintain a very high standard of professional workmanship when dealing with complex technical matters. To provide technical support and information to work colleagues and contractors. To organise and carry out engineering shutdowns of utility services, when required. To be responsible for maintaining Health and Safety within the Trust premises. To comply at all times with 'CDM' and Health and Safety Regulations. To operate Building Management Systems and to interrogate programmes and change parameters when required. To carry out regular testing of the Trust's back-up facilities, including Back-Up Generators and Uninterrupted Power Supplies Systems. To identify and rectify faults on Low Voltage Distribution Systems within strict timescales. To fault find on complex Air Handling Units and Refrigeration Plant, and to carry out regular, Planned Preventative Maintenance when required. To find and rectify faults on all Fire and Nurse Call Systems unsupervised, upgrading existing systems when necessary. To provide appropriate training to staff when required. To find and rectify faults on Medical Gas equipment, i.e. changing of O-rings/washers, and to work on 'live' systems when supervised. Any other duties within the scope of the post as may be required from time to time.
