Addlux Limited

is a small, dynamic and rapidly expanding company engaged in the development and manufacture of customised LED lighting solutions and finished products to small and leading companies worldwide. We commenced business in 2010 and are now looking to expand our staff in our new unit in Blacknest, near Alton. We offer a part-time or full-time position for an energetic and skilled Electrical Technician. You will have a good work ethic, good manual dexterity and the ability to focus on detail, and possess high-quality aspirations. An ability to make constructive suggestions on new design and procedures would be warmly welcomed. You must be willing to learn, show initiative, work independently but also be a positive team-player. You can be starting your career or already have several or many years' experience in a similar capacity.

Initial responsibilities

Electrical wiring/assembly including soldering Operating machinery and handtools (cutting profiles and metal sheets) Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments Inventory management, picking and packing Installation and maintenance at customer sites across the UK General office administration Other adhoc tasks
You will be working alongside the Managing Director who will constantly provide interactive training relating to our technology and our market. With increased proficiency we will encourage you to take on more responsibility. For example, you could be asked to run the office in the absence of senior staff. Because of our rapid growth and subject to your development, additional tasks and promotion are a definite possibility.

Essential

Electrical experience (aware of BS 7671 - 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations) Skilled in operating cutting machinery and electrical tools Able to read and understand manufacturing/engineering drawings Excellent attention to detail and a "right first time" approach Strong ability to prioritise work and complete tasks efficiently Good work ethic (working overtime to complete orders may occasionally be necessary) Confident and safe operation of hand tools such as angle grinders and similar equipment Creative problem solver; able to identify issues and develop practical solutions based on experience Physically able to lift and handle materials safely from various heights Commitment to maintaining a clean and organised workspace Good manual dexterity Capable of working independently without supervision Able to learn new products and technologies Willing to travel for deliveries, installations & maintenance work Good computer skills Able to multitask and be flexible

Desirable

Warehouse / workshop management experience Experience in production and general business administration A background or interest in technology, but not necessarily in lighting Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering Experience in CAD software Working Conditions
You will work at our workshop in Blacknest Industrial Estate (located between Alton and Farnham) and be willing to travel when required. It is essential that you can drive and have a vehicle. Working hours are from Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch-break. We will agree terms of contract, subject to a 6-month trial period. Remuneration will depend on your qualifications, your existing level of experience and prior achievements.
