Electrical Testing & Remedial Works Engineer

General Description





Carrying out Fixed wiring testing (EICR) in a variety of properties including domestic and commercial, mainly social housing and council properties. Follow up remedial works to be completed at time of testing and rewire programmes for non-compliant properties to follow. High standard of certification required and all certificates to be electronic via EasyCert. Some roles will involve working with an Electrical Improver helping with remedial work, paperwork, tidying etc. Experience of working from mobile devices is essential to complete job notes, photos and certification in an accurate and timely manner. Company vehicle, test equipment and all materials provided. Practical assessment of the applicant may be required before placement.





The post holder will assume responsibility for completing all jobs assigned to them by the company which will predominantly be testing and inspection of an electrical installation but could also include, but not limited to, electrical installation, reactive maintenance, and planned maintenance. The company will expect all jobs to be completed to a high standard with the job holder using all technical knowledge to do so.




Responsibilities & Duties




Conduct EICR's and carry out necessary remedial works to client specifications. Have a good understanding of electrical systems and be able to identify/ report faults. Ensure safe working procedures in accordance with the current health and safety regulations and all other relevant regulations. Fill out all paperwork and/or use the Oneserve / Easy Cert Application accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate with residents and clients when required. Deliver exceptional customer service. Adhere to Company Policies. To undertake any training provided by the company. To Support any business change for the benefit of the company. Any ad-hoc duties as reasonably instructed by your line manager or directors



Required Skills & Experience.




Good knowledge of the electrical industry. Extensive knowledge of the testing and inspection procedure. Experience in the completion of electrical certification. Experience of fault finding diagnostics. Being able to work within a team. Accurate reporting of works undertaken/further works required. Experience of working from mobile devices is essential to complete job sheets electronically in an accurate and timely manner. Good practical skills. Good communication with customers. Positive attitude and time keeping.



Qualifications




City and Guilds level 3 electrotechnical qualification in electrical installation or equivalent (Mandatory) City and Guilds 2391-51 or equivalent (Mandatory) City and Guilds 2382-18 - BS7671 18th Edition update
Asbestos Awareness
Full Driving License for 12 Months or more.



If these items are not held the company can provide training to obtain them.

Quality of Work Inspections. To maintain company supplied equipment and PPE. To maintain clean company vehicles. To maintain a professional appearance wearing company supplies uniform and identification badge.
