As an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer in the food manufacturing industry, your role is multifaceted and crucial to the success of the operation. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of areas, including:
Health and Safety:
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
- Implementing safety training programs for employees to foster a culture of workplace safety.
- Ensuring all equipment is safe for use and fit for purpose both through direct action and promoting safe working practices.
Food Safety & Quality:
- Overseeing and enforcing food safety standards to guarantee the production of high-quality and safe food products.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of production processes to maintain optimal food quality.
- Implementing quality control measures and protocols to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
Process Knowledge and Control:
- Utilizing your expertise in food manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Monitoring and controlling process parameters to ensure consistent product quality.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any process-related issues to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Able to demonstrate an ability to adapt and grow knowledge based on industry developments and business objectives.
- To manage and resolve breakdowns as required, acting at pace while communicating clearly to the site team.
- Control of contractors and issue permits to work documentation
Continuous Improvement:
- Leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Analysing data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and process enhancements.
- To assist with preventative and enterprising engineering objectives within the constraints of budget ensuring the ppm schedule is achieved.
People Management:
- Providing leadership and guidance to a team of Operatives to achieve production targets, supporting managers where required.
- Providing training and development opportunities for team members. With and ability to give well informed unbiased feedback to members of management.
- Proactively fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration among team members where employee feel pride in what they do.

Key Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- Qualified Multi Skilled Engineer with electrical bias (18th Edition)
- 3 years+ experience in food manufacturing
- IOSH Certification
- Automation/ PLC experience
- Good standard of written and oral communication
Desirable
- Food Safety Level 3 Hygiene Certification
- Educated to NVQ level 5 in Electrical Engineering
- BRC experience
- A recognizable Electrical/ Mechanical apprenticeship
