Duties
Install, test, and commission electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and methods, then execute effective repairs.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately complete installations and repairs.
Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks efficiently.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and repair logs.
Skills
Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and multimeters.
Experience with power tools relevant to electrical installation and maintenance tasks.
Demonstrable electrical experience with a solid understanding of wiring practices, circuit design, and safety procedures.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues swiftly and effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. This position requires applicants to hold relevant electrical qualifications or certifications recognised within the industry.
