is seeking a skilled electrician to join Dudley Council on ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

General electrical repair and installation works equivalent to City & Guilds 2365 Level 3. Including the AM2 (Achievement Management No.2) Fault finding and rectification New installations, including full rewires Installation of steel or PVC Conduit and trunking systems Testing of portable appliances (qualification required) Installing and commissioning of electrical circuits to central heating systems Installation of extractor fans, including builders work where required

Requirements

Undertake multi-skilled duties to support customer satisfaction and operational efficiency Carry out basic carpentry works (bath panels, cupboards, doors, skirting, floorboards) Complete plaster patching and making-good to cable chases Undertake minor brickwork and general making-good Carry out limited plumbing tasks (showers, cylinders, immersion heaters) Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and Council officers; prioritise works and complete certification on time Complete all work to required skill standards with care and professionalism Work independently or as part of a team; plan jobs, order materials electronically, and complete documentation Carry out reasonable tasks within skill level and competency Provide advice to customers on home maintenance and Council repairs policies Ensure safety and security of Council vehicles, tools, equipment, and site activities Be physically fit to work outdoors, at height, and attend health surveillance Work in dirty, confined conditions and handle heavy items safely Undertake Regulation 10 asbestos training and follow safe systems of work
THIS ROLE REQUIRES A BASIC DBS CHECK AND A VALID DRIVING LICENSE.

This is an ongoing role providing 37 working hours a week.
