Job Summary

Hampshire Generators are well established in the supply, maintenance and installation of uninterruptible power supplies and diesel generators across the UK. Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate would be experienced in commercial and residential electrical installations with a desire to gain more experience in UPS, generator, battery energy storage and renewable energy installations. Previous experience in these sectors would be a big advantage but not necessary.

This role will involve carrying out planned maintenance, installations, commissioning, and fault-finding across a variety of electrical systems, while also providing technical expertise and support to the wider team.

Electrician Duties

Attend customer sites to carry out servicing, testing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on UPS, battery storage systems, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment. Carry out electrical installations for both commercial and small domestic projects. Conduct site surveys, inspections, and load testing to ensure compliance and safe operation of systems. Install and commission UPS systems, battery storage units, and supporting electrical infrastructure. Testing and certification of electrical Installations to current regulations Support apprentices on-site during installations and maintenance tasks. Provide technical input and resource estimates to assist with project planning and quotations. Ensure all work is carried out in line with current electrical standards and safety regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

Recognised Electrical Engineering qualifications - 18th Edition or equivalent. A City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Previous experience in installation, servicing, and commissioning of UPS, battery storage, or related electrical systems - advantageous but not essential Experience in both commercial and residential electrical installations. Knowledge of switchgear and control systems desirable. Commissioning and project experience advantageous. Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight CSCS / ECS card holder. Full UK Driving Licence.
