Carry out electrical installation and maintenance works in a variety of contracts on both domestic and commercial properties, to provide high-quality, cost-effective building services to the business and its customers.
Duties
Key Performance Area 1: Quality/Delivery
Undertake work on electrical installations in accordance with the Regulations (18th Amd2 and later revisions)
Carry out electrical installations and maintenance work on:
a) Lighting Installations
b) Power Installations
c) Mains Supplies
d) Door Entry Systems
e) Boiler Installations (P.L.C and Optimiser etc)
f) Emergency Lighting
g) Fire Alarms
h) Install or service streetlights.
i) All Plant, apparatus, and equipment of an electrical nature
j) Voice/data wiring installations.
Undertake fault-finding and diagnostic work as required to locate faults and repair as required.
Conduct electrical tests on finished work and existing installations, record results and complete test certificates.
Carry out work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work.
Assist in the implementation of information systems and information technology (IS/IT) within your own area of work.
Ensure good levels of productivity and work within the required timescales/categories.
Wire up domestic boiler installations Inc. Honeywell running gear to new installations (Vaillant boilers).
In knowledge to diagnosing electrical faults on heating systems alongside gas engineers if required.
Using a working knowledge of electrical systems to conduct maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing systems. Install new electrical systems, including lighting and heating, to customer standards and to maintain those systems while upholding guidelines and complying with codes and regulations.
Will be working on Commercial and Domestic properties.
Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring and monitoring.
Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts.
Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic electrical systems and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards, including in fire alarms and security systems.
Re-wire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, heating systems and alarms.
Carry out full domestic re-wires.
Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes and follows safety requirements.
Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction.
Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions.
Install electrical systems to 18th editions wiring regulations, including installing heating and cooling systems.
Provide professional assessments and advice for customers.
Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 & 2382 qualifications and inspections and testing certificate (2391).
Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements.
Repair street lighting including working at height.
To work on 3 phase and single phase.
Carry out emergency work.
Willing to cover standby.
Carry out testing and repairs to door entry, Emergency light and Alarm systems.
Mentor work experience or apprentices.

Qualifications, knowledge and technical ability
Essential
City & Guilds electrical qualifications (18th Amd2 Edition) and 2391 (or latest)
Recognised apprenticeship and post apprentice practical application
Strong background in carrying out testing and inspection, reactive maintenance works and installation work
Have electrical experience, Lighting, Wiring, Alarm systems, Fire Prevention systems
Able to undertake risk Assessment (incl. diagnostics and fault finding)
Able to undertake electrical maintenance
Basic knowledge and understanding of health & safety
Have an awareness of Equality and Diversity and how it impacts on the role and service users
