to deliver electrical works alongside our experienced all-trades team within occupied/void private residences and social housing properties. The successful candidate will carry out installation, maintenance, and repair work while demonstrating a high standard of professionalism, care, and respect for residents and their homes.
This role requires a strong focus on customer service, clean working practices, and effective coordination with other trades to ensure repairs and improvements are completed to a high standard, safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
Applicants must have relevant experience, hold a full driving licence, and be committed to delivering high-quality, compliant work. A company work van will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair works within occupied private/social housing properties, in line with current regulations and safety standards.
Work sensitively within residents' homes, ensuring clear communication, courteous behaviour, and minimal disruption at all times.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and techniques.
Install, service, and repair ventilation and extract fan systems, including bathroom and kitchen extract fans (experience preferred).
Accurately read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and job instructions.
Use hand and power tools competently and safely in domestic environments.
Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation, electrical regulations, and company procedures.
Complete job records, certification, and materials usage accurately and in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with other trades (plumbers, joiners, decorators, etc.) as part of an all-trades team to deliver effective repairs and planned works.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area, ensuring properties are left in a suitable condition upon completion of works.
Experience & Requirements
Time-served electrical apprenticeship.
SVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Proven experience working as an Electrician within social housing, domestic maintenance, or occupied residential properties.
Demonstrable experience working in occupied homes, with a strong emphasis on customer care, cleanliness, and respect for residents.
Experience installing, maintaining, and fault-finding extract fans and domestic ventilation systems is highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of electrical regulations, safety standards, and best practice.
Competent in the use of electrical hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled, all-trades team.
Full UK driving licence essential
