Duties

Installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with safety regulations and technical specifications. Diagnosing electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, then implementing effective solutions promptly. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to execute installation or repair tasks accurately. Conducting routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or faults before they escalate. Ensuring all work complies with current electrical codes and safety standards at all times. Using hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installation and maintenance tasks efficiently. Documenting work performed and reporting on progress or issues encountered during projects.

Skills

Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and multimeters. Experience with power tools including drills, saws, and grinders relevant to electrical work. Demonstrable electrical experience with a solid understanding of wiring systems, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues swiftly. Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines. Good communication skills for liaising effectively with team members and clients. Ability to work safely following health and safety regulations at all times.
