About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Electrician to join our fast-growing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Team at Railscape.

Working closely with the Qualifying Supervisor, you will deliver high-quality, safety-compliant electrical installation, maintenance, and fault repair works across commercial, rail, and infrastructure environments. This is a hands-on role within a safety-critical industry, requiring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to working in live operational settings.

Location & Travel Requirements



This role is based from our Head Office in Rayleigh, Essex, with regular travel required to:

Satellite offices: Ashford, Hull, Grantham, Wales, Essex Network Rail depots and stations across the Anglia Region, carrying out electrical maintenance and fault repairs
A full UK driving licence is essential.
A company pool vehicle will be provided.

Working Hours



Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8-hour day shifts Occasional overtime required

Salary & Benefits



Salary 38,000 - 45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays Test equipment and tools provided Company pool vehicle provided Opportunities for rail competence training and career progression

What You Will Be Responsible For



Commercial electrical installation works, including containment systems, SWA installation and termination, and 3-phase distribution equipment Completing commercial Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) Installation and testing of emergency lighting systems Fire alarm installation and testing Reactive fault finding and planned maintenance works Data cabling installation Occasional domestic electrical works Using IT systems to record work, inspections, and associated documentation Liaising with clients to minimise downtime and operational disruption Working efficiently, safely, and in compliance with current regulations

What We're Looking For



Fully qualified electrician with a recognised electrical apprenticeship JIB Gold Card 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (including Amendment 2) Strong understanding of current electrical health & safety legislation Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage own workload, materials, and reactive requirements Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Anglia Region

Desirable Skills & Experience



Fire alarm installation and testing experience Rail (off-track) experience (training provided if not held)

Safety-Critical Role Requirements



Employment is subject to:

Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing Random drug and alcohol testing in line with rail industry safety rules Ongoing compliance with all rail safety and competence standards
