About us:

Blue Support Services Limited (BSSL) is a subsidiary of the Equity Solutions Group and delivers facilities management services to around 21 healthcare buildings in Cornwall, Stockport, Sheffield, and Oldham as well as a growing number of other commercial buildings. We have a wide range of in-house skills including engineering, facilities management, a 24-hour help-desk facility, and construction team, and have grown rapidly over the last 2 years, with around 80 employees nationwide and are now ready to continue with our expansion plans.

We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join the team in supporting the estate.

Job Summary

Role will require some travel to cover all sites across the South estate with occasional travel to other regions.

This role will be eligible to join our on call rota which has a responsibility allowance of 10% which has been taken into account in the advertising salary.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

The pre-planned and reactive maintenance to the group estate of commercial and domestic buildings, between building services and construction. Working with the engineering team and liaising with other specialisms Troubleshooting, evaluating, and recommending equipment/service upgrades when required. Ordering parts and supplies as required and maintain stock and inventory control. Performing all assigned work to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site. Maintaining the BSSL reputation for high standards of work and professionalism at all times. Complete maintenance repairs and installation of electrical systems on a full range of commercial and residential properties. Complete repairs and maintenance on a full range of electrical systems, including fire alarms, call systems etc. .Training provided where required. Complete the installation of new and refurbished electrical systems using a full range of installation materials and techniques. Complete routine checking and testing of all types of electrical systems, including the location and repair of faults. Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems. Perform other duties within your capabilities as assigned.

Key Skill/Experience Requirements

Substantial, relevant experience in commercial environment NVQ/ C&G in Electrical Engineering 2391 Test and Inspect 18th Edition Valid UK Driving License CSCS Skill Card Experience with alarms would be desirable. Well versed in completing paperwork including PPM paperwork, inspection sheets, RAMS etc. The ability to work in accordance with health and safety requirements as a matter of routine Good working knowledge of the building services environment and other disciplines would be a n advantage Attention to detail. Ability to demonstrate journey and workload planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Your work will take you into buildings with children and vulnerable adults, therefore you will be asked to complete an enhanced DBS check.
