The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, installation, and repair work across a portfolio of buildings, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently in line with current UK regulations (BS 7671 - IET Wiring Regulations).
Key Responsibilities:
Install, test, and maintain electrical systems in domestic, commercial, or industrial premises.
Carry out
planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
and
reactive maintenance
on electrical systems and equipment within commercial and public buildings.
Carry out routine maintenance and inspections to ensure electrical systems are safe and compliant.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
Ensure all work complies with current electrical legislation, including the IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
Prepare and complete electrical installation certificates, inspection reports, and other documentation.
Participate in on-call rotas and respond to out-of-hours maintenance emergencies when required.
Respond to emergency call-outs and complete repairs promptly.
Follow company health and safety policies and promote safe working practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a facilities management or building services environment.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience in [domestic/commercial/industrial] environments
