You will oversee the planning and co-ordination of our schemes and be the main escalation point for the client/operatives and management. You will hold responsibility for the organisation of works whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and welfare of operatives. Supporting the successful completion of works within agreed timescales, budgets, and standards. Know and understand customer needs and consider customer impact during all stages of your work.
You will be primarily based in the Podington depot with regular travel between sites and depots.
Key Responsibilities
Working at height, Lantern installations, sign erection, duct laying, along with reinstatement, cabling
Construction of chambers to highway and utility specifications
Building of cabinet/feeder pillar sites
Trail holes/hand excavation when required
Operating heavy plant or wagons
Excavation by mechanical means and/or lifting operations via HIAB or grab wagon
SWA electrical terminations into lighting columns and feeder pillars
Installation of secondary isolators into lighting columns
Wiring and installing lanterns
Testing & inspecting on street furniture and the completion of test certificate's
Working safely and promote a safe environment for all operations and for all personnel under your authority and others who may be affected by MSF's activities such as the general public.

Cable pulling
Cable jointing
Working from MEWPS
Assisting within the operational logistics of driving vehicles
Liaising with client's and MSF personnel on site
Carrying out a Risk Assessment prior to the commencement of any work activity
Ensure all installations are completed to the correct standard, delivered on time and to budget.
Completing relevant documentation, paperwork and raising on-site issue's
Maintain a high level of health and safety as per company policies/procedures
Candidate profile
Confident to work night shifts and stay away from home when required
Physically able to undertake manual work including manual trenching cable laying etc
Committed to all installations being completed to the correct standard, delivered on time and within budget.
Positively participate in all training relevant to your role
Work to a high level of health and safety as per company policies/procedures
Confident to work as part of a team with good communication skills
Identify risks and problems on site and provide pro-active solutions
You will make full use of all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E) including flame proof overalls, hard hats, task gloves, goggles, ear defenders and boots at all appropriate times
Checking that your company vehicle is fully maintained and kept in a roadworthy condition and to report all faults and defects to the immediate Supervisor. Ensuring all the working areas of the vehicle are kept clean and tidy, and to ensure that all tools and plant allocated to the vehicle are maintained
Protecting the security of Company information and property (from both theft and damage)
Qualifications
HERS registered /CSCS card holder
Experienced as a Lead Operative
Committed to ensure all works are completed as per MSF HSEQ policies and procedure and reporting of any HSEQ issues to supervisor via the Eyes and Ears App
CSCS/ CPCS, ECS cards
Street works, IPAF,
G39,
City & Guilds/ NVQ or equivalent in electrical installations
Inspection and testing
Full UK driving licence
Electrical Street Lighting experience is desirable
