Purpose of the Role
The Electrification Project Manager will be the key interface with customers of our electrification products, responsible for the successful execution and delivery of customer programmes across our Electrification business unit.
We have developed world-leading technology for both onboard and offboard vehicle electrification and are looking to recruit a project manager to deliver our global customer projects. The key objectives of the role are to effectively execute both hardware and services delivery to customers across a range of markets, such as automotive, aerospace, and defence.
The role includes being the point of contact for customers externally, whilst internally liaising with our engineering and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of engineering development and services in addition to hardware units.
Location
This role is based at our head office in Woking, with a flexible hybrid working policy to meet business needs.
Principal Accountabilities
Work closely with Sales, Engineering and Operations to make sure Projects are scoped, planned and delivered to meet customer requirements (including both services and hardware deliverables)
Organise projects using a structured framework, with appropriate project phases and milestones
Own and maintain the project budgets and business cases for the projects they are responsible for
Ensure that hardware is delivered cost-effectively, on-time by working closing with the Supply Chain and Planning teams within Operations
Pro-active management of risks, issues and opportunities including management of change from a defined commercial/technical baseline
Management of key inter-dependencies cross functionally, providing clear prioritisation where required
Implements appropriate project reporting including escalations to senior management where required
Manages the relationship between customers, suppliers and internal project teams
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Engineering degree qualification or equivalent combination of education and work experience in project management. Professional qualification in project management is desirable but not required.
Record of accomplishment in a project or programme management role within a technical product development environment.
An understanding of engineering disciplines including mechanical, hardware and software development, together with an awareness of engineering best practice.
Ability to make high quality project level decisions and facilitate solving problems that may fall outside of own area of expertise.
Combination of commercial and technical acumen with ability to see and understand the big picture while managing the important project details
Excellent stakeholder and people management skills, including customer, engineering and operations interfacing
Highly organised and can use appropriate tools for controlling a project including project planning, issue, risk and task management and project budgeting
Clear and concise communicator with ability to run effective meetings, report project status and escalate issues appropriately
Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to internal and external executive audiences.
Comfortable working across all levels and areas of the organisation including engineering, production and sales.
Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, where agile decision making is required.
Knowledge of electrification or electronic products and services, including power electronics is desirable.
Team player with effective and proven interpersonal skills.
Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
