The Role
Under the supervision of the Technical Director/Managing Director you will be required to produce electronic machine guard safety equipment using means of technical drawing packages, Proteus and 3D rendering software packages.
You will be working with a small team of dedicated production engineers in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment, carrying out the following:
To ensure all design work is completed to agreed programs and processes
To complete tasks set out by senior management.
Taking projects from initial concept through to design and manufacture
PCB design and Layout
Creating assembly drawings for production
Review and execute designs for manufacture, provide design changes and updates when required.
Updating parts, Bill of Materials and relevant costings
Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
Familiar with EMC requirements.
Providing electronic test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment.
Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.
Fault finding - experience preferred min. 1 year
repairing circuit boards
Generating test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports
Promptly identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow Manufacturing to continue in line with order schedule, following production test failures.
Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.
The person:
Have experience as an electronic design engineer.
Hold B.Eng in Electronic Engineering.
Experience designing both analogue and digital circuits is essential.
The ability to use Proteus PCB design package.
Experience in programming microcontrollers is desirable but not essential.
Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles and fault diagnosis techniques, with demonstrable experience down to component level.
Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-systems and system design, integration and test principles.
Excellent verbal and communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.
Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design challenges efficiently.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
