Position Summary and Responsibilities

Working as part of the Development Team, the Electronic Development Engineer has responsibility for the design, layout and testing of analogue electronic circuits. This a hands-on role which will involve executing specific tasks on various projects in addition to providing coordination and coherence across the team. The Electronic Development Engineer is expected to enable learning points and best practice to be shared throughout the team and will ensure efficient future development through commonality and re-use of designs and qualification data.

The applicant will be responsible for generating new electronic designs including:

  • Component de-rating & margin analysis
  • Performance modelling
  • Generation of circuit schematics
  • Validation of performance and generation of test reports
  • Fault finding down to component level
The individual will be expected to deliver allocated engineering task within agreed timescales, facilitate timely resolution of technical issues, adhere to the quality standards while ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained.

Essential Skills, Experience, Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in in an analogue electronics design role
  • Experience using analogue circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience in the layout of surface mount circuits.
  • Ability to fault find circuit down to component level.
  • Adaptable, with good attention to detail and quality mind-set.
  • Computer literate, using MS platforms such as Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to manage your own time and workload
  • Good manual dexterity and experience in handling small components.
This role will require the applicant to achieve UK national security clearance.

Essential Skills, Experience, Qualifications
  • Degree or HNC in electronics
  • Experience of High Voltage circuit designs
  • Experience of designing for high EM environments
  • Experience of working to Aerospace and Defence standards
  • Experience in working detailed requirement specifications
  • Experience in technical report writing.
