AWE has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic/Radiological Maintenance Engineer to join our Radiochemistry Group, bringing their experience to AWE and to successfully playing a key role in delivering for our customers.

Location: Reading/ Basingstoke area

Salary: \xc2\xa325,250 - \xc2\xa335,000 (dependent on experience) plus allowances

Working within our Craft Engineering team, this role will give you the opportunity to carry out a wide range of planned and preventative electronic maintenance activities on Facility production plant and instruments which can include development of bespoke instrumentation solutions for Engineering tests, assisting with the assembly and testing of prototype hardware and supporting Engineers and Scientists with conducting lab experiments.

On a day-to-day basis, you will apply and hone your trade skills, working in accordance with task instructions in a safe and effective manner. This will include applying your aptitude in fault-finding and problem solving and using your core skills to install and repair electronic systems from modular to component level. Experience in a calibration laboratory equipment would be beneficial.

Though not to be considered a check list, candidates would benefit from knowledge/experience of any of the following:

Fault finding techniques and methodologies on Radiological Instrumentation

Planning and prioritisation of tasks and making decisions relating to own discipline or work area

Generate, review and comment on relevant documentation and reports as requested

Testing and measuring of electronic equipment and systems

Maintenance and repair of circuits and systems down to component level

Health and Safety at Work and Safe System of Work

Previous experience in a building, plant or manufacturing environment

Operational Craft experience

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:

Engineering Apprenticeship NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in relevant discipline or NVQ/Diploma Level 2 plus industrial experience

A recognised relevant qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC or BTEC Level 3

All Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in radiological designated areas.
