ALTEN UK is hiring an

Electronics Design Engineer

to join our consultants working on advanced

space communications and satellite systems

. You'll be responsible for the design and development of high-performance electronic hardware for use in demanding space environments.

What you'll be doing:



Designing

high power, high frequency electronics

for satellite and space applications. Developing

flexible PCB boards

(2-6 layers) and supporting complex designs up to

16 layers for FPGA-based systems

. Working on

communications systems hardware

, ensuring reliability and performance in extreme environments. Applying design practices for

signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and radiation tolerance

. Supporting system-level integration, validation, and environmental testing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams (systems, RF, FPGA, and mechanical engineers).


Qualifications

What we're looking for:



Strong background in

electronics design for space, aerospace, or high-reliability sectors

. Experience with

high-frequency, high-power circuit design

. Skilled in

flexible PCB design

(2-6 layers) and complex multi-layer designs (up to 16 layers). Knowledge of

FPGA integration

within communications systems. Familiar with

EMI/EMC, radiation tolerance, and design-for-space standards

. Confident working in a structured, quality-driven environment (requirements traceability, config/change control). Eligible for UK Security Clearance
