Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering and be proficient in designing, developing, and testing electronic systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving abilities to ensure the successful execution of projects from conception through to completion.

Duties

New product design from initial feasibility studies, prototyping, environmental, EMC and performance testing through to production testing and product launch. Design of digital and analogue circuits on multi-layer PCBs. Produce documentation (Schematics, circuit descriptions, bills of materials, test and assembly procedures). Building of test fixtures for production. Liaise with mechanical and software engineers during product development. Give training and troubleshoot issues in the manufacturing department. Evaluate prototype performance and produce reports. Manage component obsolescence and recommend suitable replacements.

Requirements

A recognised qualification in electronics (Degree / HND or similar). At least 3 years-experience in an electronic design role. Fluent in English. Full UK driving license. Schematic Capture and PCB layout. Use of operational amplifiers and discrete transistors (BJT and MOSFET). Understanding of resonant circuits. Circuit simulation using LT Spice or similar. Design of switch mode power supplies (AC-DC and DC-DC). Battery operated low power electronics. Power amplifiers. Ability to fault find to component level. Familiarity with EMC and LVD compliance. Good documentation skills and competent in the use of Word and Excel.

Nice To Have

Familiarity with writing firmware for microprocessors (enough to test the hardware). Development of intrinsically safe (I.S.) electronics. Writing of Windows programs for use in productions for testing purposes. Use of PLCs. Repair surface mount assemblies (use of hot air gun).

Salary

30,000-40,000 (Subject to experience)
