Work Experience



Job Purpose





To provide electronic and firmware engineering expertise to engineering teams & project teams delivering a locomotive re-power project for Hong Kong.

Qualifications & Experience



Engineering degree (or equivalent) in electronic engineering Minimum of 5 years' experience working in design, development and testing of electronic control equipment hardware in railway industry Experience in use of Electrical & Electronic CAD systems e.g. AutoCAD and Altium Proficiency in programming in VHDL and developing FPGA based systems Experience in digital and analogue electronics hardware design and PCB manufacture Experience and knowledge in the design for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

Principle Responsibilities & Accountabilities



Proficiency in FPGA firmware development in VHDL, including programming, debugging, and testing Capability to make amendments to FPGA software in response to design changes or issues Understanding of FPGA architecture and the ability to optimize software performance Experience in integrating FPGA software with other system components Expertise in PCB design and development for rail industry, including schematic capture, layout, and manufacturing Ability to implement changes to existing PCB designs and troubleshoot issues using Altium Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to electronics in Rail Produce & check technical documentation including specifications, electronic design information, test plans & specifications, technical reports Produce evidence to support conformance verification to standards, including BS EN50155. Provide risk evaluation, assessment and mitigation evidence for electronic system safety hazards Support investigations into failures of electronic systems & components, determine root cause and present findings Support control electronic equipment validation - type, routine and compliance testing, installation and commissioning first in class at customer site. Specify test equipment and specifications to undertake measurements or monitoring of electrical & electronic systems and equipment whilst in operatio. Perform any other duties within capabilities, training or experience
