Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of electronic devices and appliances, including (but not limited to) ice-maker, e-bikes, TV and other electronics.
Circuit Analysis & Troubleshooting:
Utilize strong circuit knowledge and troubleshooting techniques to identify electronic faults, read schematics/diagrams, and replace or repair faulty components (e.g. circuit boards, wiring, motors) to restore equipment to safe working order.
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards, including conducting
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
and following safe isolation procedures before working on electrical systems.
On-Site Service:
Occasionally travel to customer locations to carry out on-site diagnostics and repairs. Represent the company professionally, provide excellent customer service, and resolve issues independently during field visits.
Documentation:
Maintain clear records of work performed. Document diagnostic findings, repairs completed, and parts used. Communicate with the team about recurring issues and assist in managing spare part inventory when necessary.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on new products and repair techniques in the electronics field. Contribute to a culture of quality and reliability, ensuring that all equipment is repaired efficiently and to a high standard.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
Proven experience in electronic/electrical repair or maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and fix a wide range of devices and appliances. Hands-on experience with things like home appliances, small electrical gadgets, or electric bikes is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical circuits and components. Proficient in using diagnostic tools (multimeters, soldering irons, oscilloscopes, etc.) and comfortable reading circuit diagrams and technical manuals. Excellent practical skills for disassembling/reassembling devices and performing precise repairs.
Certifications:
Relevant qualifications are a plus. For example,
City & Guilds
or
NVQ Level 2/3
in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent certification) would be advantageous.
Safety Knowledge:
Familiarity with basic electrical safety regulations and best practices. Knowledge of
PAT testing
, safe isolation, and general workplace safety standards to ensure all work is carried out safely.
Personal Attributes:
Responsible and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Good time management to handle multiple repair jobs. A customer-friendly attitude, especially for on-site service calls, and the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical people.
Mandarin Speaking is a Plus.
