Position: Electronics Engineer Company: Leading Bicycle Manufacturer

I am working on behalf of a renowned bicycle manufacturer dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and urban mobility. The team is driven by a passion for creating exceptional products that transform the way people move in cities. As part of our commitment to providing sustainable transportation solutions, we are expanding our portfolio to include electrified bikes. I am seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join the team on a 2 year fixed term contract and play a pivotal role in driving the electrification of their bikes.

Role Overview As an Electronics Engineer, you will be at the forefront of the electrification efforts, contributing to the development of cutting-edge E-bikes. Your role will encompass designing, analysing, and verifying electronics for both consumer-facing products and internal prototypes. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and cost-effectiveness of electronic systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, supporting technical development and fostering good engineering practices. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence the future of urban mobility and contribute to the advancement of sustainable transportation solutions.

Responsibilities of Electronics Engineer

  • Contribute to the development of low-cost and highly reliable electronics for bikes through the entire engineering lifecycle.
  • Design, analyse, and verify hardware for consumer-facing products, internal prototypes, and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, assisting in resolving complex systematic issues and integrating software onto hardware.
  • Drive improvements and enhance the quality of our hardware by implementing best practices, processes, and designs.
  • Support Systems and Software engineers in developing requirements, architectures, and resolving technical challenges.
  • Assist manufacturers with the design of test equipment for electronic product lines and end-of-line testers.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrable experience working in electronics team settings.
  • Proficiency in PCB design, schematic design and the use of schematic capture tools using Altium.
  • Experience in low-level electronic system testing.
  • General understanding of EMC in a power electronics context.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of 3-phase inverters, DC-DC converters, microcontrollers, and analog electronics.
  • Experience with PCB layout design and design for manufacturing.
  • Exposure to electronic manufacturing in moderate volume commercial or automotive contexts.
  • Familiarity with set-to-work, verification and validation processes, including simulation and bench testing.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles, such as Requirements and Traceability.
  • Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., IEC61508, ISO26262) and cabling/connector specifications.
  • Knowledge of batteries and electric machines.
Education and Experience
  • Degree in related subjects (Electronics, systems engineering, , electrical engineering, mechatronics, etc).
  • Solid engineering/technical background demonstrated in a relevant environment.
  • Hands-on experience in a similar role.
