Role: Electronics test engineer (RF is an advantage)

Salary: \xc2\xa332,000 - \xc2\xa340,000

Location: Hayes, Middlesex

*MUST be able to get SC clearance so a UK national or been in the UK for 5 years + *

Carrying out specific duties relating to the fault finding, repair and testing of High Voltage Power Supplies, RF testing of Travelling Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs), PAMs, MPMs and supporting the Head of Equipment Test & Repair in the day-to-day activities in the designated Test areas.

Responsibilities:

• Fault finding and testing of High Voltage Switch Mode Power supplies having output voltages of up to 35kV.
• Fault Finding High Voltage Power Supplies, TWTAs, PAMs and MPMs down to component level.
• Testing to both commercial and military specifications as required.
• Carrying out of RF testing on S, C, X, Ku and millimetric band TWTs.
• Carrying out tests on TWTAs of using Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, RF Power Meters, RF Signal Generators, Pulse Generators etc.
• Carrying out Environmental Stress Screening tests, including vibration, altitude and operational temperature cycling.
• Ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with documented processes, specifications and quality requirements.

Skills required:

• Ideally possess a degree in RF/Electrical/Electronics/Physics but a minimum of a HNC in one of these fields.
• GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
• Ability to supervise staff and work as a team.
• Good understanding of switch mode power supply and RF component design.
• Good experience with RF and High Voltage testing.
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel and email applications.
