The Eligibility Officer plays a key role in ensuring that customers meet the qualifying criteria for funding under the ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation) scheme. Working closely with the Eligibility Manager and other departments, the postholder will assess applications, review supporting evidence, and maintain compliance with ECO4 rules and internal processes.
Duties
Application Assessment:
Review and assess customer applications against ECO4 eligibility criteria.
Document Verification:
Check supporting documentation (such as income evidence, benefits, property details, and EPC certificates) to confirm compliance.
Data Management:
Accurately input and update information on internal systems, ensuring all records are clear, compliant, and audit-ready.
Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure all checks adhere to ECO4 scheme requirements and internal policies.
Customer Support:
Communicate with customers, installers, and third parties to request additional evidence or clarify eligibility requirements.
Collaboration:
Work with surveyors, installation teams, and compliance colleagues to ensure projects progress smoothly.
Reporting:
Provide updates to the Eligibility Manager on application volumes, outcomes, and any identified risks or trends.
Continuous Improvement:
Suggest process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience.
Experience
Essential:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in administration, compliance, or customer service.
Desirable:
Experience working within ECO, energy efficiency, or similar compliance-focused industries.
Knowledge of ECO4 eligibility rules and funding criteria.
Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
