The Role
We are seeking a dedicated,
ELSA-qualified Learning Support Assistant
to support the school's SEND provision. This role focuses on delivering targeted emotional literacy interventions for primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small group emotional support sessions
Develop and implement personalised support plans in collaboration with the SENDCo and class teachers
Foster safe and trusting environments for children to express their emotions and build resilience
Act as a wellbeing advocate, working with families and outside agencies where necessary
Support whole-class learning when not delivering interventions, always championing inclusive practice
What We're Looking For
Essential:
ELSA qualification and experience delivering emotional literacy support
Experience in primary settings and working with SEMH needs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compassionate, resilient, and professional approach
Desirable:
Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviours
Familiarity with trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
