We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) utilised in complex electronic systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving system-on-chip (SoC) integration, signal processing, and system design. Candidates should possess strong electrical engineering expertise, mechanical knowledge, and experience with a variety of CAD and simulation tools. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis, ensuring optimal performance of programmable logic devices within our products.
Duties
Design and develop FPGA architectures, integrating SoC components and programmable logic controllers for diverse applications.
Conduct root cause analysis on FPGA-related issues, troubleshooting hardware and firmware problems efficiently.
Create detailed schematics and system designs using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks as appropriate.
Develop simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and write firmware in C++, Python, or Perl to support system functionality.
Perform debugging, soldering, and surface mount technology (SMT) assembly processes to validate hardware prototypes.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers on system integration tasks involving CAD design tools such as Revit or MicroStation.
Analyse signal processing requirements and optimise FPGA performance accordingly.
Assist in the realisation of electrical systems by applying knowledge of electrical experience, surface mount technology, ARM architecture, and programmable logic devices.
Document schematics, system specifications, and test procedures to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Experience
Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on FPGA design and development.
Strong background in system design involving SoC architectures and signal processing applications.
Familiarity with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks for schematic creation and mechanical integration.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Perl, and firmware development for embedded systems.
Experience with debugging tools, soldering techniques, surface mount technology (SMT), and electrical testing methods.
Knowledge of mechanical systems related to electronic device assembly is advantageous.
Prior involvement with microcontrollers such as ARM or similar architectures is desirable.
Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively within complex electronic systems. This role offers an engaging environment for engineers passionate about advancing electronic systems through innovative FPGA solutions while working within a collaborative team dedicated to excellence in engineering design.
