  • Plan and undertake validation testing on the embedded system / IoT solution(s).
  • Programming and code development practices for embedded solutions (e.g. Embedded C).
  • Manage the delivery and handover of the embedded system / IoT solution(s) for use in product development and manufacture.
  • Control and monitor schedules for the delivery of embedded systems, coordinating with project stakeholders on progress. Manage the scope, cost, risks, issues, and quality of the solution to be delivered. Ensure that appropriate and comprehensive user documentation is prepared and communicated.
  • Provide necessary information for technical and strategic meetings
  • Research developments in new technology, methods, and industry approaches to improve and refine the system(s) under development.
  • Arrange, prepare, and maintain prototype samples, tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to applicable regulations, company policies and quality systems.
  • Degree level qualification in a System or Software Engineering discipline plus 3 years` relevant industry experience, or at least 5 years` relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Programming and code development practices for embedded solutions (e.g. Embedded C).
  • Developing firmware/software for microcontroller targets (e.g. STM32).
  • Wi-Fi and BLE application development.
  • Cloud interfacing and IoT related techniques and protocols (e.g. AWS, JSON, MQTT).
  • UART based communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN).
  • European legislative requirements for IoT/connected products.
  • Processes, quality systems and standards for embedded systems and software development (e.g. IEC 60730).
  • Requirements management, elicitation, and validation.
  • Methods and techniques for system and software architecture and module design (e.g. SysML).
  • Office applications for report writing and technical documentation.
  • Techniques and methodologies for verification and validation testing.

The position will sit in the Home Appliance Division, which focuses mainly on the cooking appliance market and is involved in the design, development and production of high quality microwave ovens and induction hobs.
