The Senior Team Manager within the EMEA Payment Operations team is responsible for the operational running of the EMEA Payment Operations Team - this team provides the UK Payroll Disbursements service to our clients, and is part of the International Money Movement function, including Canada, Australia, and other APAC locations.
The role requires a significant focus on day-to-day funding and payment activities, ensuring all processes are meticulously adhered to in line with control procedures. The team activities are significantly deadline driven, and critical tasks require monitoring/supporting throughout the day. This role requires the individual to work closely with other IMM teams where required, to ensure key activities are completed to process the required payments.
Other key functions will be managing relationships with our bank partners/vendors, supporting audit activities, managing client-facing escalations, and supporting/representing the Sr Director as and when required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the daily operations of the EMEA Payment Operations team
People management - supporting the team during their day-to-day activities, providing coaching and career development support (across 2 sites)
Assisting clients with payment-related queries, including escalations
Being accountable for the performance of the team
Responsible for the development of team strategic priorities and counterbalancing any foreseen challenges/difficulties
Owner/driver of change within the team
In depth/SME industry knowledge
Identifies and resolves operational and technical challenges
Working within complex matrix management structure
Managing senior stakeholders across the business, including Sales, Service, and Implementation
Representing the Sr Director when required (EXCOM, SLT, IMM Senior Leadership forums)
Support with Celergo Payment Support Services in absence of Sr Director
Lead projects related to IMM modernization/enhancement of payment services
Facilitate monthly team meetings
Working with other business units to resolve technical issues
Ensuring compliance with respect of SOX Controls, Internal ADP Policies, External Audit bodies and the UK Regulatory bodies.
Supporting Sr Director in audits relating to payment activities (safeguarding)
Driving efficiencies and improvement to processes
Supporting our Risk Manager in providing cover for absences
Representing EMEA Payment Operations during key projects
Working with banking partners, involving routine service reviews and relationship management
Qualifications
7-9 years business experience within Financial Services environment
Minimum of 5 years within a leadership/people management role
Experience with Oracle, Excel & Word.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment subject to constant change and strict deadlines
Strong written and Oral communication
Project Management experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Banking or Payroll Services industry experience preferred.
Education
Post-secondary education with specialization in Finance or Commerce/bachelor's degree preferred
