The Department technologist will assist with stores, ordering and maintenance of equipment. They will ensure all equipment is in good working order, reporting the equipment as required, including, but not limited to: ultrasound, bladder scanner, ECG Machine, Dinamap and cardiac monitors.
The technologist will ensure that stock is unpacked and correctly stored. They will replace any equipment used during emergency situations to ensure safety within the department.
They will escalate any issues with equipment or stock at the earliest opportunity and order replacements as appropriate.
To maintain all of the Emergency Department (ED) storage and keep in a clean and tidy condition. This includes but not restricted to: Emergency Department (ED) Resus; Ambulatory Clinical Decision Unit (ACDU), Majors and PAT.
To monitor, receive and unpack stock into allocated areas.
To ensure all necessary statutory check documentation is maintained.
To ensure equipment is decontaminated/calibrated and ready for use.
To contribute to the smooth running of the Emergency Department.
Support alternative ways of working, particularly where the need for change cannot be easily identified.
The post holder is required to wear a uniform.
