Job Description

Clinical To act as an expert practitioner, demonstrating advanced clinical competence and a knowledge base beyond those associated with conventional nursing roles. To ensure me safe and efficient management of the of the Minors area, assessing the workload and delegating to staff appropriately. To ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care, delivered in a timely manner. Professional To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct HPC Standards and at all times work within the Scope of Professional Practice.



Ensure that professional practice adheres to Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. To maintain a professional manner and act as a role model for junior staff. Management To provide appropriate clinical, operational and management support as well as professional advice within Emergency department. Takes appropriate action with the department Co-ordinator in managing demands on the department and ensure that the ED escalation plan is utilised.



To promote and demonstrate effective communication networks across the division and the Trust. Educational / Personal Development Maintains an excellent learning environment and has an active teaching role. To work with a consultant supervisor/mentor to support clinical practice and development of knowledge/skills providing evidence on an annual basis of all clinical skills and knowledge. Adheres to revalidation requirements.
