Job Description

We are looking for an Emerging Consultant Nurse for Critical Care who is a highly motivated and experienced nursing professional who is developing the advanced clinical, leadership, and research skills necessary to transition into a full Consultant Nurse role.
This position involves working closely with senior consultant nurses and multidisciplinary teams to deliver expert patient care, contribute to service development, and support practice improvement initiatives.
The Emerging Consultant Nurse is committed to advancing their clinical expertise, participating in evidence-based practice, and to introduce the regional and national critical care agenda.
The Emerging Consultant Nurse will transition to 8b on progression through Consultant Nurse Assessment.
Main duties of the job
Lead advanced nursing and non-medical practice across the Critical Care Service including development of advanced practice roles.
work with all stakeholders to develop clinical pathways internally and externally across all specialities.
Work as part of the senior clinical team to deliver key clinical standards.
Support the Nurse Director to develop strong leadership and managerial process to deliver high quality care.
Work with the Matron and Clinical Educator, taking a lead on educational development for nursing and engagement of the multi-professional workforce across the Care Group.
Work in collaboration with the Matron and ND to develop strong Governance framework.

  • Registered Nurse (Valid NMC)
  • Master's degree in a relevant field/or equivalent/higher post graduate qualification
  • Recognised Management/Leadership qualification or programme
  • To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
  • Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (NMP)
  • Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills required for autonomous practitioner (APACS)
  • Post registration qualification /education relevant to Critical Care
Desirable
  • Willingness to undertake PhD/Doctorate qualification
  • Advanced Communication skills qualification

  • Substantial post registration experience in the field of Critical Care
