We have an opportunity to appoint an empathetic and student-centred individual as Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA).
Haygrove School is committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our students, and in this unique role you will work closely with children who require additional emotional support, helping them to build self-esteem, overcome barriers to learning and develop healthy coping strategies and resilience.
Under the guidance of the SENDCo and Assistant SENDCo - SEMH, you will collaborate across both the school and wider communities to assist with planning effective sessions to support the emotional literacy for a range of social and emotional needs.
Ideal candidates will be a qualified ELSA or have the willingness to undertake the training. You will have had experience working with young people in either an educational or supportive environment and will possess the skills to form effective relationships and collaboration with all stakeholders. As well as empathy and patience, you will have excellent listening skills and have a calm, reassuring presence, with a genuine passion to support and provide young people with the opportunities to learn and succeed.
