As a
Employability and Wellbeing Advisor
, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals navigate the complexities of securing employment and supporting those who are self employed while fostering their mental and emotional wellbeing. You will support individuals in overcoming barriers, building confidence, and gaining the skills they need to lead independent, fulfilling lives. You will provide guidance around the use of social media to support their businesses or raising their own profile and how marketing techniques can improve their prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide holistic employability and wellbeing support to clients, focusing on their mental health, personal goals.
Assess individuals' employment and business needs and create personalised support plans that address their unique challenges.
Deliver employability support, including job coaching, CV writing, interview preparation, job search techniques, and building resilience.
Deliver support around social media and marketing techniques to support those who are self employed or own their own businesses.
Offer ongoing wellbeing support through one-to-one sessions, focusing on building emotional resilience, self-esteem, and coping strategies.
Collaborate with local employment services, and other external organisations to create opportunities for clients and facilitate access to employment.
Act as an advocate for clients, ensuring their employment needs are understood and met in a supportive and respectful manner.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, encouraging empowerment and helping them take positive steps towards employment success.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in social media, marketing, employment services, and wellbeing practices to inform service delivery.
Commit to your own professional development, expanding your expertise in mental health, wellbeing and employability.
Requirements:
Essential:
Previous experience providing wellbeing, employability support, particularly for individuals facing barriers.
A knowledge of support strategies for small business, self employed and agencies available to support.
Knowledge of employability support strategies, including CV writing, interview preparation, and job search techniques.
Ability to work directly with individuals to support their mental health, wellbeing, and personal development.
Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, build trust, and advocate on their behalf.
A commitment to supporting individuals with empathy and respect, ensuring their journey towards wellbeing is as smooth and empowering as possible.
Desired:
Experience in occupational, clinical, or counselling psychology.
Postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields (e.g., mental health, social work, psychology).
Previous experience working with external agencies such employment services.
Knowledge of wellbeing practices, resilience-building techniques, and mental health first aid.
