Due to an internal move, we are looking for an Employability Worker to deliver our Employabilty4All (E4A) Parental Employment Support Project across Angus.
Barnardo's Works Tayside works with young people to support their journey into work. This post will focus on supporting unemployed young parents under age 25 into employment; thus contributing towards increasing income for low-income families and moving them out of poverty. This role will include providing quality employability support for parents, as well as Community Engagement and Employer Engagement to increase the reach of the project and to improve outcomes and referral pathways for young parents accessing the service.
This project is funded by Angus Council until 31st March 2026, but we are hopeful that we will be able to secure funding to continue delivering the project beyond this date. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Service Manager, and working alongside the wider Barnardo's Works Tayside team. 100% of working hours will be dedicated to working on the Employability4All Angus PES Project
Key responsibilities will include community outreach, partnership working, generating referrals, meeting with young parents to assess their support needs & career aspirations and jointly agree an action plan, employer engagement, delivering quality employability support, sourcing training, connecting young parents with additional support as required, attending contract performance meetings and contributing towards monthly reporting. For full details of key duties and the experience required, please review the Additional Information Sheet attached to this advert.
It is important that you can demonstrate how you meet the minimum criteria and/or how your skills and experience are transferable into this role, whilst evidencing your suitability for this post in your application.
Please note due to the high volume of applications for some posts, this advert might close before the displayed closing date. We recommend that you apply for this role as soon as possible.
Pay & Reward FrameworkWe know that our colleagues go above and beyond in delivering our vital work, driven by their passion and commitment to Barnardo's values. We also know that we can only realise our ambitions and achieve better outcomes for more children, thanks to the talent, hard work and creativity of our people.
For all these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to pay and reward, to ensure it is fair, attractive and progressive, which was rolled out in April 2023. This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.
Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band - this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours. More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
