To support a period of increased organisational activity, additional fixed-term resource is required to support the HR team to deliver the People Strategy as part of Strategy 2030. Applications are now invited from candidates seeking an exciting and challenging role for a period of 24 months.
As Employee Relations Case Partner, you will provide professional advice and guidance on a broad range of employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation.
To be considered for the role, you will be educated to degree level, or have equivalent relevant experience, and be CIPD qualified. You will have a proven track record of working in HR at a professional level as well as successfully and independently handling an HR casework portfolio, including disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings, as well as resolving informal issues. You will have experience of supporting restructuring activities and consulting and negotiating with trade unions. You will have an ability to successfully adopt a consultancy style and an HR business partnering approach, have a well-developed knowledge of relevant HR best practice and employment legislation, an ability to interpret relevant University policies, employment legislation and good practice and apply it independently to complex cases. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to persuade, influence and articulate complex information in an accessible way, and present to a range of audiences.
Reporting to the Employee Relations and Transformation Manager and working closely with the Faculty and Professional Services HR colleagues, you will operate largely independently within a busy environment, dealing with diverse stakeholders on a range of HR matters. To be successful in this role, a flexible, problem-solving approach is essential.

The post is available on a full-time basis and will be located within our city centre campus with travel to our innovation centres as required. We operate on a hybrid-working basis with 3 days per week on campus.
