Job Summary:



The Refugee and Migrant Employer Engagement Officer plays a crucial role in fostering partnerships with employers to create job opportunities and work experience placements for refugees and migrants within the community. This position involves outreach, advocacy, and collaboration to promote diversity and inclusion in the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:



Employer Outreach and Relationship Building:



Identify and engage with businesses and organisations, to promote the hiring of refugees and migrants. Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to understand their hiring needs and preferences. Advocate for the benefits of hiring refugees and migrants, including diverse perspectives, skills, and talents.

Job Development and Placement:



Work with refugee and migrant job seekers to understand their skills and create action plans to support their journey. Work closely with employers to identify job opportunities and work experience placements suitable for refugee and migrant candidates. Facilitate job matching and placement services, connecting qualified individuals with available positions. Provide ongoing support to employers and candidates throughout the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process. Working in collaboration with other partners that can support with employer engagement opportunities and support with addressing barriers to employment To support with creating and maintaining a CV guidebook for service users

Training and Capacity Building:



Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops for employers and candidates on topics such as cultural competence, language support, and workplace integration. Provide guidance and resources to employers to help them create inclusive and supportive work environments for refugee and migrant employees. Offer additional training and skill development workshops for job seekers, such as CV writing, application support and interview preparation.

Data Tracking and Reporting:



Maintain accurate records of employer engagements, job placements, and outcomes. Write detailed case studies of job seekers journey. Prepare regular reports on employer engagement activities, including successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Use data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of employer engagement strategies and make recommendations for enhancements.

Advocacy and Public Awareness:



Advocate for policies and practices that support the employment and economic integration of refugees and migrants. Raise awareness within the community about the skills, experiences, and contributions of refugee and migrant workers. Represent the organisation at meetings, events, and conferences related to refugee and migrant employment and workforce development.

Qualifications:



Previous experience in employer engagement, workforce development, or refugee and migrant services preferred. Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and migrants in the job market. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.

Pay: 27,017.48-28,017.12 per year
