In order to support our service expansion and increasing clientele, we are actively recruiting for an energetic and driven Employment Solicitor to join our new Employment department. This opportunity will be based either in our vibrant Hove or Mayfair offices and will offer an exceptional platform for a solicitor with 3 to 5 years of qualifying experience who is eager to advance their career.
Our Employment Solicitor will take an active role in amplifying the firm's business development efforts through networking engagements and written contributions. They will forge meaningful collaborations with employees, directors, HR professionals, and businesses of all sizes, playing a pivotal role in growing our employment law practice across London, Sussex and Kent.
The responsibilities for this role encompass managing your own caseload, with support from the wider team. Our employment team advises on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters, including:
Advising employers and employees on a full range of employment law issues
Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and staff handbooks
Advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures
Providing support on redundancy and restructuring exercises
Advising on discrimination, unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, and other employment disputes
Representing clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings
Negotiating settlement agreements and exit packages
Delivering practical, commercial advice to help clients manage workplace risk
This role will give the successful candidate exposure to both advisory and contentious work, as well as the opportunity to build strong client relationships and develop business.

The ideal candidate will:
Have experience advising on and managing a range of employment law matters (both contentious and non-contentious)
Demonstrate a client-focused approach with a strong understanding of the legal and commercial issues faced by both employers and employees
Be comfortable managing their own caseload, with appropriate supervision, and pro-actively managing client expectations
Possess exceptional client-handling and negotiation skills, robust verbal and written communication abilities, and a commitment to establishing strong client relationships
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to business development while maintaining professionalism and discretion
Be confident in representing clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings and drafting clear, persuasive legal documents
Have meticulous attention to detail, alongside exceptional organisational skills
Manage files well to meet deadlines, adhere to established precedents and make full use of the firm's case management systemn
All candidates must be qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales with experience in family law and have the right to live and work here.
