Are you passionate about helping people achieve their employment goals? We're looking for an

Employment Specialist

who will make a real difference--supporting residents to access and sustain paid employment, including those facing a range of barriers including long term health conditions or disabilities.


Working as part of the Connect to Work team you will manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored, face-to-face support in the community. Using a range of proven supported employment models, you will help individuals navigate job searching, applications and interviews and providing ongoing in-work support. You'll also assist those already in employment who are at risk of losing their job, helping them stay in work. Everything you do will focus on enabling people to achieve and sustain meaningful employment.

What you will do:



Deliver specialist employment support through Connect to Work and other Council initiatives. Conduct vocational assessments and create personalised action plans. Support participants with job applications, CV writing, and interview preparation. Work closely with employers to identify inclusive job opportunities and advise on reasonable adjustments. Promote the 'place, train and maintain' approach and advocate for inclusive hiring. Maintain accurate records and track progress using digital caseload systems. Engage with stakeholders and communities to generate referrals and raise awareness.

We are looking for someone who is:



Experienced in managing caseloads and supporting individuals into employment. Skilled in working with young people and those with complex needs. A strong communicator who can build relationships with participants, employers, and partners. Organised, proactive, and able to work independently. Competent with ICT systems and digital tools.

Special Requirement:



A driving licence and access to a car for business use is desirable but not essential. Due to the diversity of our customer base, the need for regular one-to-one meetings, and the flexibility required in delivering our contracts, an enhanced DBS check will be required.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
