Would you like to work for a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation and collaboration? Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and proactive Empty Homes Officer to join our Housing Services team.



In this role, you will lead efforts to reduce the number of empty residential properties across the county borough. You'll work closely with private landlords, letting agents, property owners, and other stakeholders to bring empty homes back into use--either for letting or owner occupation. Your work will contribute directly to increasing the availability and quality of affordable housing in the area.



You'll also play a key role in developing strategies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the delivery of the Strategic Housing Partnership action plan. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact on housing provision and community wellbeing.



What we're looking for:

A strong understanding of housing services, property management, or housing enforcement. Experience in service development, partnership working, and managing complex workloads. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. A commitment to innovation, equality, and continuous professional development.
