Job Description

Overview:

The London Borough of Harrow is looking for Enablement Community Officer to join the Enablement Team.

As an Enablement Community Officer, you'll be a key part of the Council's Enablement Service, working directly to implement the Enablement Strategy. Your primary focus is on supporting individuals with learning disabilities and Autism, helping them achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

The role centers on a strength-based approach, empowering citizens to lead more independent and fulfilling lives within their community. You will take on a crucial role as the allocated key-worker, building strong relationships with individuals and their families. This involves regular communication and close collaboration with all parties to ensure a cohesive and supportive network. A core part of your responsibility is to lead on Lifestar assessments, a vital tool for understanding and planning a person's journey.
About you:

The successful candidate will have:Knowledge of current legislation An understanding of safeguarding procedures Experience of working with challenging behaviour and or complex needs Experience of moving and handling people Physical ability to complete moving and handling duties NVQ level 3 or equivalent GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
