More About The Role

The individual would be responsible for the practical application of available and emerging technologies to drive process improvement (quality and efficiency) through process re-engineering and automation. The individual will hold a part or full accounting qualification and an ability to demonstrate the application of technology in a Finance function. It is the dual skill of accounting knowledge and technological expertise that will set candidates apart.




Primary Responsibilities:


Review and re-engineer all ACoE processes to identify synergies and efficiencies through the creation and delivery of an automation plan. Manage the intake of new processes to optimise before wider adoption in the team. Finance Manager duties including managing direct reports to deliver accurate and timely P&Ls and Balance Sheets (ideally P&L responsibility for Distribution and Convenience) Acting as a catalyst for Target Operating Model transformation through identification of appropriate technologies to deliver process optimisation. Create a network of Enabling Technology agents across the Finance function to upskill the wider function in creating problem statements and matching with available technologies. Delivery of the automation/optimisation agenda should be measurable in terms of FTE savings. Mentor and support Level 3 work colleagues in their weekly tasks and career development.

About You

Holds a relevant accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or is qualified by experience A proven track record in delivering optimisation through technology, including but not limited to: SQL;Java; Alteryx; Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; GCP; Anaplan; GL ERP; Access etc. Ability to influence stakeholders to engage positively with the optimisation agenda. Preparedness to work intra-Finance (and possibly beyond) to deliver function wide projects. Experience of UK retail is preferable, although not essential. Good verbal communication skills, ability to articulate financial data and technological solutions in a clear and transparent way. * Resilience and the ability to adapt in an ever changing environment; an ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
