NexEndo Healthcare is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and forward-thinking Endoscopy Unit Manager to lead the operational and clinical delivery of our Peterborough Community Endoscopy Unit. This senior leadership role is central to ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality provision of endoscopy services in line with JAG accreditation and national guidelines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic and day-to-day leadership of the unit, staff development, service improvement, and maintaining a strong patient-centred culture within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Provide overall management and coordination of the endoscopy unit, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of services.
Ensure compliance with all relevant standards including JAG, CQC, NHS England guidelines, and internal NexEndo Healthcare SOPs.
Develop and implement service plans to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) such as RTT targets, patient throughput, and capacity planning.
Maintain and monitor risk assessments, infection prevention strategies, and audit cycles to ensure clinical safety and governance.
Clinical Governance and Quality:
Lead the unit's quality assurance framework including clinical audits, incident investigations, and patient feedback initiatives.
Ensure policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation practices are current and compliant.
Work with senior clinical staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Workforce Management:
Lead, manage, and support a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, nurse endoscopists, HCAs, and administrative staff.
Undertake workforce planning, recruitment, appraisal, supervision, and performance management in line with HR policy.
Facilitate training, mentorship, and professional development to promote clinical excellence and staff retention.
Strategic and Financial Management:
Collaborate with senior management to plan service expansion, resource allocation, and cost-efficiency strategies.
Monitor and report on departmental budgets, workforce utilization, and procurement of clinical supplies and equipment. Patient Experience and Engagement:
Ensure the highest standard of compassionate, respectful, and responsive care is consistently delivered.
Address complaints and concerns promptly and constructively, using feedback to drive improvements.
Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects the diverse needs of the local community
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Experience:
NMC Registered (essential).
Significant experience (minimum of 3 years) working in endoscopy
Strong Knowledge of JAG and CQC standards as required for endoscopy services
Knowledge on all health and safety and COSHH
Previous leadership or management experience at Band 7 level or above (desirable).
Demonstrate experience in leading service delivery, quality improvement, and staff management.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Advanced knowledge of endoscopy procedures, clinical risk management, and NHS governance frameworks.
Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
IT-literate with experience in using clinical systems (Medilogik, Careflow, E-track).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
