The Endoscopy department at Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospitals are looking to recruit a Unit Manager. The endoscopy department at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is going through some exciting changes, with the trust being the key holder for the Yorkshire Endoscopy Training Academy and recently receiving for the 3rd year running JAG accreditation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of both the sites working in close collaboration with the unit manager at Dewsbury. They will be an active part of the senior team progressing ideas and innovation to create a forward thinking endoscopy service at MYTT.
The successful candidate will undertake their clinical obligations working closely with the team in endoscopy and supporting the clinical educator for JETS.
Main duties
Manage the both PGI & PGH endoscopy units co-ordinating the delivery of skilled, effective care and timely discharge.
Ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors.
Deliver expert nursing care, leading the team by example.
Provide advice and supervision to junior staff.
Actively participate in the development of the of the endoscopy service to maintain JAG status and deliver a high patient experience.
Provide support to the Matron, junior sisters and clinical educator.
Ensure good financial management is undertaken.
Key requirements
Current NMC Registration.
Evidence of Continual Professional Development.
Endoscopy post registration experience.
Experience in a senior nursing role.
Evidence of further study within endoscopy.
Recent post registration experience in an acute setting.
Relevant experience in endoscopy units.
